Is it OK to use condoms if you're a gay Catholic?

OK, so the Catholic church doesn't want you to use condoms because they're a form of birth control. So, what if they're not birth control? Is it OK for gay men to use them to prevent HIV? How about if heterosexuals use them for oral sex?

Actually, the Catholic chuch doesn't want you to use condoms because they are of value solely to facilitate lust and fornication, and the article you linked to actually touches upon this halfway down. See the Catechism for further details, particularly sections 2351 to 2359. An online copy can be found here.

I don't entirely endorse this particular set of beliefs, myself (and I'm not Catholic), but it is the view of the Church, so the answer to all of your questions is a simple no.

Anyway, if you are Homosexual, you should be celibate, as thats the only way I believe they accept homosexuals.

Nick: clearly true, but is it worse to be a condom-using homosexual than a non-condom-using homosexual.

You're looking for rational consistency from a group that believes a man came back from the dead?

Yes, condom using is worse. Without condoms, the homosexuals will leave this earth and get to the fires of hell sooner, with less fuss all around....

At least, thats probably the position if they want to think about it rationally.
