The scale of human tragedy
This is not good: as a result of magnitude 9.0 earthquake and the resulting tsunamis, 14,000 people are now dead. The truly scary part is that even with an event of this magnitude, this is 14,000 people I've never met and in less than a week it will be off the news cycle.
