I've finally managed to get my JMT trail pictures up. You
can find the gallery here.
Each picture has meta-data indicating when it was taken, so you
can work out some of it by reference to my itinerary, except that
all the dates are off by one day (i.e., the pictures allegedly
taken on the 14th were really on the 13th). I was just shooting
semi-randomly, but here are some good ones if you're short on time:
- My actual tent below Donohue Pass (day 2)
- Thousand island lake (day 3)
- Devil's Postpile (not a very good shot, but you don't get close on the JMT) (day 3)
- What's left of Inyo National Forest near Red's Meadow after the fires a few years ago. (day 4)
- View from Squaw Lake Outlet (day 4)
- One of the few patches of snow on the trail (day 5)
- The Muir Hut at the top of Muir Pass and the view from the pass (day 7)
- The horrifying suspension bridge over Woods Creek. Like the bridge in Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom except no Thugees (day 8)
- Rae Lakes (day 9)
- Weather over Forester Pass (day 9)
- View from the base of Forester (day 9)
- Marmots galore (day 10)
- So that's why they call it Guitar Lake (day 11)
- The highest point in the Continental US: summit of Mt. Whitney (day 11)

Gorgeous.
