Paper Cryptography

Hovav Shacham, Stefan Savage, Terence Spies and I have been working on some exciting, exciting technology in the field of paper cryptography and we were pleased to present it at the CRYPTO Rump Session. Slides here.

HAHAHAHAHAHHA!!! Thats great.

However, I wouldn't encode on the face, but on the side. You can divot the role edge to include information.

Yes, but if the encoding is on the edge, someone will setup a cutter to slice it off, and then they might tape it to non-approved paper. To be effective, the encoding has to be across the paper completely.

Could you do it with UV-only reflective 2-d barcodes? That way the user wouldn't notice the copyright protection measure.
