This is really interesting. Evason, Huang, Yamben, Covey, and Kornfeld
report that three anti-convulsants, ethosuximide, trimethadione, and
3,3-diethyl-2-pyrrolidinone increase life span in C. elegans. With
trimethadione increasing mean life expectancy by 47%. This is good
news if you're a roundworm, but the really interesting thing
is that trimethadione is already approved for humans. It will
be interesting to see if these results can be replicated in
humans.
